KHADIJAT BUSOLA AMOLEGBE

Khadijat is a lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She received her PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Ilorin in 2019. She has won different awards and fellowships such as the Structural Transformation of African Agriculture and Rural Spaces (STAARS) fellowship, sponsored by CGIAR Research Program on Policies Institutions and Markets (PIM), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Cornell University.

Broadly, her research interest is in agricultural productivity, poverty and food security issues in sub-Saharan Africa. She has a few publications covering each of these areas. Her current research, sponsored under the IITA-IFAD CARE project, aims at exploring the skills needed to motivate youth to participate in the agricultural sector.

She intends to continue to develop strength in areas related to her research interest, collaborate with other researchers around the world, and carry out policy-relevant studies that can help solve sub-Saharan Africa’s food insecurity and poverty problems.
