Sulaiman Umar, is a research fellow and lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Samaru, Zaria, Nigeria. He has been involved in projects with international organizations and development partners such as Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Thought for Food (TFF), International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). He holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His research interests include agricultural and rural development; training and capacity development; project planning, monitoring and evaluation; rural and environmental sociology; participatory extension approach; and innovation dissemination and adoption. In these areas, he has published several scholarly articles in academic journals and attended international and local conferences and workshops. In this project he is working on the topic: “Determinants of intention to engage in agripreneurship: implications for youth employment policies in Nigeria”.
