Ms. Cynthia Jeh Mkong is a young Cameroonian female, driven by passion for Food Security and Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development within and out of the African context.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in Agricultural Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, University of Buea, Cameroon, having registered outstanding academic and professional records, at both the Bachelors and Masters Levels from the same institution.
Cynthia is particularly passionate about youth empowerment for sustainable Agriculture, which explains her professional and civic engagement records over the years. She currently serves as the Representative of Youths and Young Professionals within the Policy Research Network for Fisheries and Aquaculture in Africa (PRNFAA); Earth Charter Young Leader (ECYL) within the Earth Charter International, Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Buea, Cameroon; Research Associate at the Centre for Independent Development Research (CIDR), Buea and Director of the Hope for the World Youth Association (HoWoYA), Cameroon.
Cynthia Jeh Mkong is dynamic and independent, with a very analytical mind. She is very cautious and inquisitive – qualities considered assets for teamwork and international growth. She is conscientious and hardworking, having a combination of tenacity, analytical abilities in research topics and good communication skills that allow her to achieve set tasks in record time. She possesses strong leadership abilities and can to live and work in a multi-cultural environment.
She craves for an opportunity to contribute her skills and intellect in working for especially agricultural and rural development at both local and international circles.
