Mr. Sylvester Anthony Jotta is a PhD candidate in Agricultural and Rural Innovation (ARI) at the Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania and a research fellow of International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) under the “Enhancing capacity to apply research evidence (CARE) in policy for youth engagement in agribusiness and rural economic activities in Africa. His area of research is the “Impact of ICT Adoption in Tomato, Rice and Cotton Productivity among Youth Small-scale Farmers in Misungwi and Kilombero Districts, Tanzania.” Sylvester lectures Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Development and Marketing at the Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) under the faculty of Business Administration.
As a Consultant Mr. Jotta has been an instrumental person in baseline surveys related to youth livelihoods in Tanzania, coaching and mentoring of various formal and informal youth farmer groups. He has been involved in various professional trainers such as Entrepreneurship Development Programmes for Regional Youth Officers, District Youth Officers and Women Development Officers in Tanzania. Mr. Jotta has carried out a number of consultancies including trainer in various projects such as African Livelihood Partnerships (ALPs) project, Investigative Business Environment Journalism for Electronics Media project, and trainer of Basic and Advanced Business Environment Journalism for Tanzanian Journalists.
Mr. Jotta brings with him over six (7) years of working experience in the area of youth agricultural value chain, rural transformation, entrepreneurship development, change management, marketing strategies and small and medium enterprise development.
